Active Implementation Plans
NYSL
Instructions for setting up NYSL locations
1. Review the IAC IP Authorization Request form; note the Region. Formulate a location ID based on the region. Each location ID begins with 'nysl_' and the region code, followed by a unique string.
Region LocationID
Capital nysl_ca
Central nysl_ce
Long Island nysl_li
Metro nysl_me
North Country nysl_nc
Rochester nysl_ro
South Central nysl_sc
South Eastern nysl_se
Western nysl_we
2. Write the location code on the Authorization Request, then create a location record
a. retrieve the generic location record for that region using the locationIDs shown above
b. modify the location ID and add the data from the Authorization Request -- do not modify the Logo Text field
c. use <ctrl>-R, Add to add the location field
3. Add the IP address listed on the Authorization Request into the appropriate Library Record's IP registry.
Region LibraryID
Capital nysl_ca
Central nysl_ce
Long Island nysl_li
Metro nysl_me
North Country nysl_nc
Rochester nysl_ro
South Central nysl_sc
South Eastern nysl_se
Western nysl_we
If the Authorization Request does not contain an IP address list, or indicates the name of a Dial-up Access Provider, create a Remote Patron Profile record using the locationID created in step 2 above. All NYSL dialup (RPP) profiles should use the same password (empirelink) and cache life (365):
Location ID:<locationID>
Method:D
Host:NA
Port: -1
Description:empirelink
RP Cache life (in days):365___
Example: Region == Rochester
Library == Roberts Wesleyan College
Retrieve the Rochester region generic location record, using locationID 'nysl_ro'. Modify the location ID, e.g., 'nysl_ro_rwc'
Fill in the rest of the location data (do not modify the Logo Text or Web URL fields, or the product list) using data in the Authorization Request
Use <ctrl>-R | Add to add the location record
Retrieve the Library Record using libraryID 'nysl_ro' and add the IP address(es) listed on the Authorization Request -- or -- create a remote patron profile record using the locationID 'nysl_ro_rwc', method 'D', password 'empirelink' and cache life = 365.

Comments: URLs are formed at the request of one of two Mass BLC staffers, Marlene Heroux or Jackie Sullivan. These requests are typically emailed with just the names and region of the insititution; create a location record (note region and locationID format) and dialup profile. A more complete tech sheet will be filled out by the BLC staff and forwarded to the TGG installation crew. Use these sheets to complete the location profile, add IPs to the registry, etc.

Notification
Requests for URLs are mailed to TGG installations by email from Marlene Heroux or Jackie Sullivan. Once the locationIDs have been formed, reply directly to Marlene or Jackie with the URL information. They will then notify the site, and complete a MLIN tech sheet. Once additional information has been entered off the completed tech sheets, no further notification is required.
Signup request source, method: email from marlene.heroux@state.ma.us or Jacqueline.Sullivan-BLC@state.ma.us.

WSL
Washington State Library Initiative
Important: WSL program databases may be added to existing RLIS or ACP accounts (e.g., Everett, King County, San Juan Island, Seattle Public, Sno-Isle, Tacoma, Timberland). Any authentication methods already in place for these accounts should be extended for new products. New accounts in either ACP or RLIS should be enabled as follows:
RLIS
Common RLIS Library ID: wsl
Locations: <libID> (no special requirements; citynnnnn format
okay)
Location record template: wsl_main
Authorization
Use IP if available; otherwise, include a dialup profile
Method: Dialup
Password: evergreen
Life: 365
ACP:
No special requirements (citynnnnn format okay)
Databases
InfoTrac: GRCM GBFM HRC
GaleNet: Assoc Unlimited (U.S.
National, Regional, State, and Local, and IRS Data on Nonprofits)
CA/CLC/DLB (except Pierce County: LRC)
BRC (25 users; create a single account for all WSL participants for this product
only)
Remote Access
RPA should be negotiated with each library independently; attempts should
be made in each case to implement RPA using locally operated CGI scripts. If libraries are
unable to to do so, fail over will occur in the following order:
1. If the library owns a range of library card numbers, a range checking script will be available. Use the Location Authorization profile in RLIS:
In ACP:
2. If the library does not own a range of library card numbers and chooses to use passwords instead, use the following Location Authorization profile:
In ACP:
Populate the password table using the form at
http://sales.iacenter.com:1800/WSLform.html
Passwords may be formed by the requesting library or at the installer's discretion (i.e., no special requirements), but they should be unique for each library.
InfoTrac Configuration UI Accounts
Individual config UI accounts may be created for each new RLIS account. (Please DO NOT use the location ID as the username.) Do not, at this time, create additional config UI accounts for existing RLIS accounts. Be sure that for each location, one preference is created, and that for each config UI account username, rights to only that preference, and corresponding location, are assigned (i.e., do not assign to each user account rights to all locations, preferences, or other user accounts).
Notification
Do not notify account contact persons directly. Send RLIS location IDs and config account UI info, and ACP customer codes, to the state SAE (currently James Knight). The SAE will notify customers and cc: sales staff. A digest for installation teams and FC support staff will also be assembled and posted to lindex.gale.com/pds/active_implementation_plans.htm.
